I am just ready to collapse, yet I feel such relief! Today was my long awaited Unemployment Appeal Hearing. (Of course, I also got another bad cold I am dealing with and got my period this morning.) I was fired from my job in May for coming back late from lunch on 7 different occasions(by an average of ONLY 5 minutes each time). Explainable, since there was no prvided employee parking and an inadequate lunch area...i ate in my car and my car was a ten minute walk each way and our lunch was only 30 minutes. The REAL reason I was fired was because I got fed up and ratted on this loud-mouthed abusive mesoganistic homophobic creep of a manager....and that was only AFTER he tried to say I was insubordinate in a write up.
Well, after I was fired I filed a report with the Fair Employment agency and at the same time filed for unemployment. Fair Employment is still investigating, and unemployment denied my claim of wrongful termination and that is what I appealed today.
I have what you would term "guarded optimism", but I really think the judge seemed to be leaning in my favor. :))))))) I will not find out the verdict for several weeks.
